You Really Should Go To Disneyland Right Now, And Here's Why

Because in January 2016, a large chunk of Disneyland will be closed for at least a year.  The train that runs around the perimeter of the park, the Fantasmic! evening show, all of Tom Sawyer Island and the boats that sail around it, and the Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo area (this one will be closed permanently).

These sections of the park will be closed because of the new Star Wars land that is going to be built over the next several months.
The new Star Wars-themed land will likely be built between the Rivers of America (where the pirate flag is) and Frontierland (yellow).  Probably back where the trees are now, right next to the railroad.  There are also going to be some changes in Tomorrowland (bottom right section, blue).

I have mixed feelings about this, which you might remember from my Digital (Re)Creation project.  Star Wars is only Disney's through purchase, not through invention, and it appears to be edging out original Disney material because it is so profitable.  However, I'll wait and see what comes of it before I start complaining!

In the meantime: you really should go to Disneyland right now, because in January 2016 . . . the remodeling will begin!
