Near the end of the book, when the material turns from artist statements to artist biographies, I was intrigued by the section describing Harold Cohen and his robot that could create art. I looked up Mr. Cohen and his robot, AARON, on Google, and found this short video of them and their projects.
I'm still not exactly sure how AARON works, except that he can somehow remember and reproduce colors more accurately than humans, but it is interesting to see the resulting artwork, which is bright and, according to the artist, a mix of digital and traditional paint colors.

The video said that AARON has been in existence for 42 years, which is an incredible length of time even if one doesn't consider that 42 years ago was the year 1969 (the video was uploaded in 2011). One would think AARON would have been updated or given new capabilities sometime during that span, but the artwork is still interesting and eye-catching nonetheless.
