The Matter of the Hula Hoop

I wanted to share a series of photographs that I thought was interesting, but which I don't particularly like, although a few of the photos are pretty.

A pair of photographers traveled around the world recently capturing photos with the accompaniment of an LED hula hoop.  At first, I thought the colorful light would add mystery and brilliance to the shots - and in some cases, that is true.  However, in other photos I feel like the light just gets in the way of the scenery.  Even though all the hula hoops fit within the color palette, they seem very out-of-place in the natural environments.  Only in a few cases, where the girl's silhouette is particularly striking or when the light stands out boldly against a night scene, do I enjoy the photos.  The article describing the series can be found here, but I'll post a few photos below and you can see for yourself what you think about them.
